Inspired at the very beginning by the Meccano, not only its very simple way to build anything but also the formal and structural characteristics.
I soon opted to build a chair with a cross structure as i wanted to make a truly tri-dimentional chair, thereafter the design was the result of a series of logical consequences. Instead of using conventional larges wooden sections, assembled with mortise and tenon joints, I opted to start rather from thin slats of wood ensuring rigidity by a play of opposed tensions to stiffen the assembly.
The parts are then held together with screws, not only to remain consistent but also to be able to save on environmental impact.
The cross structure under the seating has been replaced by four curved blades of wood, joined at the ends.
It is inserted at mid-height, between the two strips that form each leg.
The backrest is inserted at the upper end of the back legs.
The round seating and the backrest are made of plywood, are particularly generous and are designed to be comfortable.
In the same way you can do a bunch of different construction with a Meccano, SHARE is easily adaptable in barstool, low chair, tables, shelves, etc---
