Wooden Stool/Side Table Height: 45cm - Width: 36cm - Depth: 36cm

The original idea was the desire to draw a wooden stool to be sold in parts and flat packed, to minimize the impact of transport on the environment and therefore assembled by the end user.
As often, I prefer starting from an idea that determines the final shape widely rather than draw an object and then ask how to achieve it.
Feet have been designed to be made simply by cutting in a reasonable section of wood, to limit waste to the maximum.
From then, the stool has become a construction set,by re-establishing the basic issues between carpentry and assembly game, or just how to fix 4 feet on a seat? Whether it's architecture or a piece of furniture, sometimes a joining detail brings evocative power to the entire constuction, most of the time these details are merely technical and deliberately concealed.
With RING the manufacturing process remains visible in the final object, easily understandable, I think in fact that understanding an object can help us to apreciate it. The images shown here describe RING's assembling process, feet are attached one by one to the metal part that will finally be screwed to the seat. An aluminum ring holds the assembly once locked by the central wood part also fixed to the same plate.
The shape is mostly a consequence associated with the construction principle.
This design is also multifunctional piece of furniture that can be used as a stool or as a side table.
This design principle brings an emotional aspect by what it evokes in us, I believe indeed that the emotional and physical level are interdependent.
