"REVOLUTION" is not a revolution in the technical sense, on the contrary, it is designed to be produced with simple techniques.
The name "Revolution" is used here to express the movement---
The idea was to design a wooden stool to be sold in pieces and flat packed.
This is the choice of the positioning of feet around an axis that has re-oriented REVOLUTION to a workshop stool typology creating a "mechanical imbalance" a priori inconsistent with the construction of a stool but initiating a new logic in the dynamic created and the suggested movement.
This creates a geometric dialogue between the initially orthogonal construction and the seating like "generated" by the movement.
This new logic has proven finally relevant including functionally.
Technically, the cube has emerged as a logical solution to fix the 4 feet, they are fixed by screws and shifted to the side, then rotate 30degrees to reinforce this idea of movement and emphasize the mechanical construction aspect that reminds his workshop stool typology.
The cube also allows to set the threaded rod for height adjustment.
The manufacturing process remains visible in the final object, easily understandable, I think, in fact that the understanding of an object can help us to apreciate. REVOLUTION can be used both in residential or professional context, in front of an the architect's desk, in the room of a child, in a bar, a restaurant ---- Furthermore high version of the stool and a table seem a logical extension of that starting construction.
