The starting point of PATTERN was in fact the choice of a technique, of process, I wanted to explore what could be done starting from a flat sheet of Plywood.
The main job was of course to find the form to give to a flat wooden sheet to get a comfortable chair when bent. Pattern is probably a reminiscence of my training as a stylist, giving volume to a fabric to make a garment or giving volume to a sheet of wood to make a chair, belongs indeed to the same principle. for Pattern the shell of the chair takes shape by pulling both flaps toward each other to fix them behind the backrest.
