The design is of course Initially inspired by the folding ruler, and drawings we probably did with it when we were younger---
The aim was to achieve a shelf with a reduced number of parts that can be added together endlessly , super flexible, super adaptable even over time . Folding rules is finally made of 3 different parts: a shelf, folded laser cut aluminum sheet, two identical sides in solid ash, 2 aluminum axis and some screws. The shapes are very simple and pared down to the minimum.
The broken line, very graphic is actually unlimited, the user is free to design his own bookshelf on his wall.
