From this point of departure, a link is created between the shelf and its environment, by divertting the slats intended to be placed on the ground, by assembling them in height, Floors becomes an extension of the architecture, a micro architecture pared down to the minimum, made of horizontal planes, supported by vertical columns.
Floors' main interest is its modularity, not only for the space it is intended for but also for the books for which it was designed. Technically, the floorslats are assembled in ladders of variable heights thanks to aluminum tubes, the ladders can then be assembled together as different floors, according to the desired depth, they are held together thanks to elastic bungees.
For longitudinal extensions, some ladders are shifted like floor slats, to create visual continuity and stable fixation.
At the same time, the goal was also to make a shelf with a reduced number of pieces that can be added together endlessly, super flexible, super adaptable even over time.
It has been designed to be easily manufactured, even locally, to be sold as a kit and flat packed to reduce economic and environmental impact of transport.
Floors can be used in residential and professional environments.
